This policy is provided under Washington's My Health My Data Act. It explains how The Soulpothécary (run by Sara Heisler in Kirkland, Washington) handles "consumer health data," meaning personal information that relates to your past, present or future physical or mental health. It adds to our Privacy Policy.
The short version
We don't ask for your health information. Our forms ask only for your first name, email address and, on the contact form, a message. If you choose to tell us about your health in a message, we use it only to reply to you. We never sell it.
Categories of consumer health data we may collect
- Anything you choose to share about your physical or mental health, wellbeing, symptoms or healing in a message you send us.
- The fact that you're interested in healing and wellness content, which could be inferred from joining our waitlist or reading the site.
Sources
We collect this information directly from you, when you fill in a form on this site or email us.
Why we collect and use it
- To read and reply to your message.
- To send you the HEAL-THY updates you signed up for.
We don't use consumer health data for advertising, and we don't build profiles from it.
Consent
We collect consumer health data only with your consent. By choosing to include health details in a message and sending it, you consent to us using those details to respond to you. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the Contact page, and we'll stop using the information and delete it.
Who we share it with
We share consumer health data only with the service providers that run our website, forms and email (Wix and our email newsletter provider), and only so they can provide those services to us. We do not share it with any other third parties or affiliates, and we do not sell it.
Your rights
If you're a Washington consumer, you have the right to:
- Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and see it.
- Get a list of the third parties and service providers we've shared it with.
- Withdraw your consent.
- Have your consumer health data deleted.
To use any of these rights, send a request through our Contact page. We'll confirm your request and respond within 45 days. If we can't fulfil a request, we'll tell you why, and you can appeal by replying to our answer. If your appeal is denied, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
